Everything in the universe is composed of the elements: earth, water, fire, air and space. The perspective of Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine is that all states of health and illness are based on the balance and imbalance of the elements which dominate our physical, emotional/mental and spiritual dimensions. Since the elements pervade and compose everything, the outer elements which compose the food that we eat and govern seasonal changes affect us internally. Since we each also have our own unique composition of elements, each of us responds uniquely to our environment and food.

While Ayurveda and Tibetan Medicine are rooted in different spiritual traditions, at the level of diagnosis and treatment they share the same basic theory. Sudarśana employs both medical traditions to expand the range of services we offer.

The therapeutic approach of Sudarśana is to ascertain your health concerns and goals, as well as identify your constitution and imbalances. Based on an extensive interview, a physical examination, and pulse and urine analysis, we define a regimen that may include recommendations for diet and lifestyle changes, as well as herbal formulas and therapeutic bodywork. A typical initial consultation lasts about an hour and a half.

We are partnered with board licensed medical doctors in the United States and Mexico with whom we consult on a case by case basis when necessary.
